Thursday: Pacific Science Center

Probably it would be a good idea if I did just a little more research and pre-planning rather than just winging it. So, we decided it would be really fun to stay for the "Laser Beatles" show at 8:00PM. No sense hurrying to get there early then, right, since we're staying so late. So we didn't get to the Science Center before noon. How did I know that they close at 5:00? And how silly is that, anyway? Close at 5:00 and then you have a laser show at 8:00 but nothing at all to do for three hours in between? Nah, nobody would be silly enough to set a schedule like that.

One of the main things we wanted to do was to visit the Geocaching exhibit. It was really fun. We were glad we were there on a weekday when it wasn't too crowded... I can't imagine how that geocaching maze would've worked with a full weekend crowd of people in there!
After that we had a little snack in the cafe and then went to watch "Monsters Vs. Aliens" in the Imax. It was fairly funny and quite impressive on a 6-story screen in amazing surround sound and in 3-D!
We played outside with some of the water activities. Then we started checking out the exhibits. The touch-tank was cool.
The music exhibit was neat too and the giant musical instruments that really worked were very impressive!
We saw the dinosaurs... And a real live meteorite that fell out of the sky. It was super duper heavy- way heavier than it looked!
Then, just when we were getting going, we realized the Science Center was closing. So we spent a couple of hours... well, three hours... wandering around the Seattle Center. Not much going on. We had dinner in the Center House, wandered around the Fun Forest (which is dirty and rundown) and went over to the Space Needle for a bit. It is amazing how tall that thing looks from underneath! We warmed up in the gift shop for a while and then, well, wandered around some more. Finally it was 8:00 and time for the Laser show. We headed back to the Science Center and enjoyed a nice hour of craning our necks up to the domed roof of the laser show theatre listening to awesome Beatles songs and watching the laser show. It was really fun and well worth the wait. When we came out it was dark and we couldn't wait to get home to bed. The Needle sure looked pretty in the dark!
